The Urban Development Master Plan (UDMP) for Thakhek Town, Khammouane Province is one of the subprojects under the Fourth Greater Mekong Subregion Corridor Towns Development Project (GMS-CTDP4). The plan aims to guide the sustainable growth of Thakhek Town while improving urban infrastructure, environmental services, connectivity, and the overall quality of urban life.

The UDMP provides a long-term development framework to 2040, focusing on land use, urban expansion, transportation, infrastructure, environmental management, flood protection, and the revitalization of the historic town center to support tourism and local economic development.

Located along National Route 13 and the GMS North–South Economic Corridor, Thakhek Town has strong potential to strengthen economic and regional connections with Thailand and Vietnam. The plan therefore promotes well-managed urban growth and sustainable development that responds to the town’s strategic location and local needs.

Under the supervision of PIC, APA Incorporate Sole Co., Ltd. was responsible for preparing the UDMP, including urban development policies and regulations, land-use planning, construction and development guidelines, and priority investment projects to support the future development of Thakhek Town, Khammouane Province.
